Happy One Year!

It's been one year since we were standing on Mokapu Beach and saying "I do's!" I don't think either of us believe it's already been a year. Our first year together definitely included some really happy moments and some really sad times. I have no doubt it has only brought us closer together and made our relationship stronger.

Since we are in the middle of a move, we decided to celebrate Brent's Birthday and our One Year Anniversary together on the 19th - right smack in the middle of the two days. Brent suggested we try El Gaucho, a Brazilian style steakhouse. Yum! Brent had the usual filet with mashed potatoes while I had "Oscar style" with Dungeness crab and asparagus. (*No Oscars were harmed in the making of this dish.) Then we capped it off with the Forbidden Sundae for dessert! Complete with a birthday candle for Brent!

We spent the actual anniversary day moving tons more plastic containers (because the rain came back) and finished up the painting at the house. Sunday evening Brent had to fly to San Jose for a one-day meeting. As you can see, the boys were very sad to see him go!

Kristin Chenoweth

We saw Kristin Chenoweth last night at the Paramount Theater and she was amazing! This was her first stop on a 19 city tour - her very first solo tour! She was funny, cute, and her voice was perfect. She sang songs from Wicked, Glee, Les Miserables and Phantom as well as some funny songs like Mel Brooks' "I'm Tired", "In These Shoes?", and "Taylor the Latte Boy" (all about Starbucks - fitting as she said she is retiring from singing the song after that performance!). She really delivered on every song! I think the best part was when she first walked out on stage and you could see her hands trembling while she wiped away tears - you could tell that she really was genuine about enjoying her first solo concert and she was determined to put her heart into making it a special night for everyone!

Walk for Babies

It was only two weeks ago that we even heard about the March of Dimes walk taking place here in Seattle. Even though we signed up late, Brent and I were looking forward to contributing to a great cause this past Saturday, May 6th. It was a bit chilly in the morning, but a really great turnout! I was surprised they actually COMPLETELY blocked off 15 blocks of 2nd Avenue, it was that big - I forget sometimes that we live in such a big city! Sorry, no pictures of us during the walk, only after.
Tired puppies
Then we came home and proceeded to PACK our heads off because..... we're MOVING!! Yay! We're leaving this cold, moldy, leaky, broken, smelly lake house to a brand-spanking new home 3.8 miles away. We close in a few weeks and we couldn't be more excited! Yay to no more renting and to owning a place of our own!! (We'll post pictures when it's officially ours.)
Just put it in Brent's office!

"But Dad, did you have to put them on my bed?"
