We have a one year old now! A three and a half year old and a one year old and it is getting quite interesting! I *think* they are starting to play together now.... in their own way.
Kade is our little lion. With the stockpile of baby/toddler books that we own, I really didn't think Kade needed any new books, but I bought him one Usborne lion book for Christmas and it fits him so well. He is small, but very strong. We already see how brave he can be - attempting things that his older brother would dare at not at this age! (And he's not even walking yet!) He truly has a nice holler too! (Like when he informs big brother he wants a particular toy.... he usually had the toy first anyway...)
He loves playing by himself and after watching me do something one time, is able to repeat the motion. He loves to explore - especially the kitchen cabinets. He seems to really love the dogs - pets them nicely and gives them treats. When I read to him, he turns the pages with his left hand although most things are done with his right. He's a great eater, not so good at chewing. Unfortunately, he is allergic to peanuts and we are thinking he's allergic to milk products as well (hopefully he'll grow out of that).
Kade has taken a few steps, but not officially walking yet. Currently has five teeth - that top left one refuses to come on out! He's wearing 18 month clothes (some 18-24 month due to his belly and adorable baby thighs). And he's our little shorty. One year well-check measurements put him at 29" (20th percentile) and 21 pounds 7 ounces (30th percentile).
Happy First Birthday Kade! We can't wait to see more of your personality and watch you grow!
