Nags Head 2020 Beach Trip - Part IV

It's time for Putt-Putt! We decided to go early so to socially distance properly from other groups! We were the first ones on the course that day!

Blaine showing us how it's done!

Look at that height! Brock is catching up to you Blaine!

Waiting patiently for Blaine to tally the scores....

Gummy sharks make your tongue turn blue!

We packed our bicycles for this beach trip - ought to use them! While Kade napped, we took a family (Kade is still working on his two-wheeler skills) outing up to Fish Heads Restaurant - 3.4 miles roundtrip!

As per North Carolina summers, it was thunder-storming almost every evening. Thunderstorms bring rain, which make big puddles along the sidewalk! Brock loved driving through some pretty deep puddles - some were almost 4 inches deep with water!!

Moose in his happy spot on the deck! He likes to tan.

We brought the boys out to go crab hunting one night on the beach. Just look at that gorgeous sunset!

I think he remembered just what to do from last year!

A quick video of Moose crab hunting on the beach. (seriously quick, it's 8 seconds)

Our very last full day, Kade and I got a little alone time while the rest of our crew boarded a charter out of Hatteras. The Seafox was having some tech issues and the seas where just a little bit out of Brent's comfort level anyway.

Kade and I had fun on the beach. We got out there pretty early and had almost the whole beach to ourselves!

Meanwhile, here are the big guys on the charter boat en route to fishing grounds.

This was Brock's first time catching the green fish, but after a few of those, he much preferred catching the bigger blackfin tuna. Brock loved opening the fish box and keeping a running count of all the fish in there!

Blaine and Brock reeling in some fish:

Holding the fish like a true proud fisherman!

Final count: 3 Mahi Mahi, 13 Blackfin Tuna (slightly smaller than the yellowfin, but pretty good eating fish)
1 (Hooked, but not caught) Blue Marlin. Brent was on the reel, but the fish pulled the hook 100 feet away from the boat. It jumped twice when it was hooked so the Captain was able to get a look at it. He estimated that blue fin was over 400 pounds - and he's caught quite a few. They are a catch and release fish anyway, but Brent missed out on the photo op.

My view from the rental house's kitchen window - stopped washing dishes to take a picture (it is through a screen too). :)

Alas, some of us were not so happy for vacation time to end!

Beach Trip 2020 has come and gone. It was fun, but I was ready to get home and away from the mosquitoes!
