Christmas decorations complete inside and out!
Teaching Brock to be a great photographer. He got the whole tree!
A lovely Bass Pro employee asked if she could take our picture! Yay - all four of us! Smiles optional.
Our annual visit to see Santa at Bass Pro. They asked for a few things from "Santa" and then hurried to collect their candy canes. Brock is a little more aware this year... and Kade "knows" that this is not the real Santa - the real Santa is busy at the North Pole. He's already told me it's okay that I don't have to get him a particular present because he asked Santa for it and I don't have to buy it!
Not really "holiday," but we're adding it here - Brent and I visited the special exhibit of Dutch Art going on at the North Carolina Museum of Art (last day for B1G1 tickets and you know how I love a deal!).
We toured the exhibit on Friday afternoon while the kiddos were still in school. A nice day date - I am a very lucky lady to have a husband who knows the importance of going out of his comfort zone once in a while for something his wife likes to do.
And wouldn't you know it - we found a Cane Corso in a painting from 1640!! (See black dog "guarding" in bottom right corner) I didn't take a picture of the entire painting, but if you're curious - you can see it here. Other paintings with this ruined archways said this was most likely the Colosseum!
Hunting and guarding dogs from Rome in the mid-17th Century? Definitely Corsos!
Besides a few Rembrandts, still life fruit and many sailing paintings - one of our other favorites: Dog at Rest. Truly looking at the actual painting is amazing - you almost think the painting is a photograph the dog looks so real!
