Christmas visit to Huntersville

All four cousins were finally together! And they were playing together.... mostly. :)

Brock got a chance to feed Asher - not bad leftie!

Brock and his Godfather.

This is where the three biggest boys played most of the day on Saturday morning!

When Brock had enough of playing with his younger cousins, Maddox and Kade climbed in the playpen to hang out with Asher!

Brian was on it and had some Christmas activities for the big kids to do - Oreo and gingerbread houses!

Kade is all about chess these days - brought his chess board and challenged everyone he could to a game - or two!

On Saturday evening, Brian & Nancy's neighborhood was having a holiday party - complete with snow globe, holiday train, and Santa himself!

The snow got a little out of control - it was everywhere! Inside shirts, jackets, sleeves, hats.... maybe not the best idea.

But the boys loved it!

Woohoo! Time for the holiday train! Brian and the three big ones off on the adventure! They all wanted to sit in the blue car (aka the car that drives the whole train - nope!)

Time to open presents!!

Thank you so much to all for a wonderful family visit - I know having so many people (kids) in the house turns the house upside down (especially sick kids), but thank you so much for accommodating the four of us. We all made beautiful memories and the generosity with your time and attention was appreciated by everyone in the Eason family!

Papa, Kade, Nana Phyllis, Maddox, Brock and Riley (Asher was asleep)

Aww - what cute cousins!

Papa and Nana stayed over Sunday night, after the Eason's left, and set up the old train Papa had as a little boy. It looks good boys!

Bass Pro Santa 2022

December 11 we made our annual pilgrimage to Bass Pro to see Santa - you have to reserve a spot one week in advance!

The boys played around with the ATV's and fishing equipment until our reservation.

Kade had a whole list this year, but Brock is only asking for surprises from Santa. We will see!

Here are some photos from our "holiday session" - photography by yours truly! Ha!

Last note - do you see those bunches of "leaves" still hanging out in very old trees? That's real live mistletoe! (Things I learn from my very wise husband.)

Kade's Carolina Pines November Taekwondo Tournament

Kade was slightly nervous initially waiting for the tournament to start, but soon after a buddy from his school joined him and he turned cool as a cucumber!

Finally - competition will begin! There were only four boys total in his ring, so the odds for a medal were in his favor!

First event, Forms! Each boy took their turn and they gave scores for each one. Kade ended up tying scores with his buddy, so they had to go again for a tie-breaker!

He won!! All three judges pointed to Kade for first place!

After Forms, he competed in his double nunchucks. He did amazing. Brent and I were in awe of how serious he stayed throughout the routine and how he remembered all of it! The other boys his age stopped several times getting stuck remembering what move to do next. Kade was all business!

Last event - sparring! This one we had some trouble in last tournament, but he was ready!

He was shorter than all the other boys, but he was mighty! Video below is almost 3 minutes - there is a time limit and whoever scores the most points within the time is the winner!

A certificate placing first in Forms, Weapons and Sparring and a nice medal! A great tournament day!
