First Boat Day of 2021

A little late getting out to the lake this year - first boat day of 2021 was May 22nd! We like our routine of getting Bojangles brunch to bring on the boat.

The water was a bit chilly (75 degree water temp) for Brent and I, but the boys had no problem getting in; albeit a bit more slowly that day.

Once they were in, they were on a mission to head to shore!

Watch the video for their journey to shore!

They made it!!

Oh Captain, my captain!

Holy cow! They were working TOGETHER to build something!

See how far they swam by themselves!

When the boys returned to the boat, they spotted a ladybug crawling on our back bench. They were enamored and took turns holding it.

Who's driving the boat??

The boys get braver every year - creeping up the side of the boat where it's taller to jump from.

But every now and then, it's nice to get a helping hand from Dad!

Mother's Day 2021

My sweet Moose! He's allowing me to dress him in bows and ribbons....  a few minutes for a picture at least.

My white dogwood I planted Fall of 2018 in honor of my mother, bloomed for the first time this year. It was really nice to see.

For Mother's Day this year, I wanted to go on a little hike with the family. This year we settled on Hemlock Bluffs Nature Preserve - a combination of nice mulched and boardwalk style trails over wetlands.

As usual, the boys raced down the steps to get to the first observation point. Everything is a competition!

Posing with some trees estimated to be between 300-400 years old!

Kade counting the rings on the tree stump.

A little play area at the end of our trail.

The boys ordered me some gorgeous flowers and treated me to a Biscuitville breakfast.

After our hike, the sun came out and it was a beautiful day to play in the sprinkler!

(Moose quickly hurried inside when the sprinkler came out - he just does not like getting splashed one bit!)

And one video - Kade showing off the green frog we found in our back garden.

Exploring the Outdoors!

Brock and I happened upon a very cool trail near our house, so decided to grab Kade AND my camera phone the next time!

 Short, but sweet!

It was a great real-life experiment in figuring out where exactly to sit on the log so both of them could balance evenly!

A little further down the trail is a cool platform - definitely built by some bigger kids due to the size of the steps! That is as high as both of them would go!

Brent and I decided we needed a new fun toy! Say hello to our third vehicle - the black Jeep Wrangler!

I spot a Corso nose!

Big enough for the whole family!!
