Hamilton & Bass Pro's Santa's Wonderland

I scored tickets to Hamilton!! Each person had to enter a lottery for the chance to be selected to try to purchase tickets when they went on sale in August. Between myself, my husband and my brother - we scored a winning time slot that allowed me four seats - GIRLS NIGHT OUT!

Dinner beforehand at Luna, then off to see the show - November 15, 2018!! It was AMAZING! So very glad I was finally able to see it! (I think Brent was thrilled that he did not have to go!) I sang along to the soundtrack all weekend!
Jill, Helen, Vanessa, Anna - All Enloe High School alumni!!

Santa's Wonderland is in full swing at our local Bass Pro Shop. It's always a fan favorite!

After giving Brock some proper technique tips, Brent got in on the action!

Kade was bummed the remote controls ran out of battery - I swear, this is the one thing that NEVER works while we're there.

The boy loves his stuffed animals!

Pre-picture before sending it off to Santa.... apparently Santa was asking for the letters on his lap - oops!
I had Brock sound out what he wanted to write to Santa - this is what he ended up with:

Santa,
I wyant a video game.
I wyant a fort medm one. (I want a fort medium one)
I bin a goud boy.  (I been a good boy)
Brock

While waiting for Santa (as in Brent got in line for us), the boys worked diligently coloring their drawstring backpack. I think Kade got more marker on his fingers than his bag.

Then it was time to see the big guy in red!

Have to stop to check in on the fish! It was a good morning out!

Kade's Preschool's Fall Festival

Kade's preschool opened up their playground areas for an awesome Fall Festival in November. Each Teacher Team manned a carnival game and the school invited several vendors and children's activities they are partnered with - Soccer Shots (which Kade already takes classes with through the school) and Yong-In Martial Arts (we won a raffle with these guys for 2 weeks free lessons!)

Kade loves soccer and headed for this right away!

He loved the fishing game and kept going back to play! He told me he was trying to catch a Wahoo (like Daddy)!!

It was time for the class performances - not too many kids showed up from Kade's class, so big brothers/sisters stepped in to help (the two on the sides) - Brock was having a morning with Daddy.

Their song was "Leaves Are Falling" and the kids did a great job as the sun was right in their eyes!

Ms. Nan came around with the microphone, but when it got to Kade, I don't think he wanted to give it up!

Watch the full video here.... and see what happens when Kade went back for his solo song..... this was in front of at least 100 teachers, parents, and children! He's such a showman!

Huge smile!

Time for a pizza break!

After lunch Moana even stopped by to tell a story about how Maui got his fish hook!

Finally, the line simmered down and it was a perfect opportunity to get Kade's face painted! While waiting for the boy in front of him to get his face painted, he told me he DEFINITELY wanted to get the green dinosaur. Then, he sits down in the chair and upon being asked what should she paint.... he says Rainbow! Hahaha, sure Kade - he loves his rainbows!

 My happy boy!

Halloween 2018

The weekend before Halloween, downtown Apex hosts the Trick or Treat on Salem Street for all the kiddos! This event has gotten HUGE! The businesses along the main thoroughfare of downtown Apex pass out candy to SO many children - it's a safe event as they close down the street for vehicles.

It allowed Kade a bit more practice before the big day!  Brock was happy for another opportunity for more candy!

And he was all smiles!

The first thing they did when they returned home was candy inventory!!

My group at work had been planning our group costume for months.....

Even though we placed second in the costume contest, I still think it was a win! (My supervisor is dressed as the Wizard - can you find him?) ;)

After a quick dinner, it was time to put on our costumes for the big event!!

My mums looked fantastic! ;)

Brock was tired of pictures (forced smile) - he was ready to go trick-or-treating!

Alright, alright.... off we go! Moose stayed home for the early treating.... this is Diesel's favorite holiday!

First house - Diesel was so ready to get up there too!

Poor Kade was a little weary of this house and all their decor.  Brock gave him a little pep talk.

We told Brock to make it fair - let Kade ring some of the doorbells. He was such a sweet big brother - he's holding Kade up so he can reach it!

After a round of houses with just Brock and Moose, it was time for bed for the boys while Diesel and I helped pass out the remaining candy.

He loved sitting on the porch watching all the kids walk by - he got lots of love that night! (Some kids came back just to pet the husky!)

Look - there's Brent!

My sweet 11 year old husky on Halloween night.

Art in the Park at Historic Yates Mill County Park

Brock and I checked out the event at the Yates Mill County Park. I've heard so many good things about the park and I'm sad to say I've never been - until now!!

They had crafts for the kids inside the nature center and then we ventured outside.

It really is quite picturesque.

Brock loved checking out the waterfall beside the old mill.

I can see why so many photographers were on site that day!!

I told him to stand on that block and I'll take a picture.... he was most likely doing this to mess with me. Hmmmm... probably shouldn't be doing that especially at an historic site either.... alas I snapped the pic anyway.
