Peter Pan & Things

Tickets for a show at the Durham Performing Arts Center meant dinner beforehand! We decided on Tobacco Road Sports Cafe with a beautiful view of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Both boys being silly on their tip toes next to Dad!

Scanned our tickets with new technology for me! First time using the wallet app on my phone! It's been awhile for Brock (Aladdin pre-Covid), but Kade has never been to DPAC. He was very amazed at the size of the theater!

We purchased our concessions and made our way to our seats. Brent and I tried to convince Kade to use the booster seat, but he was adamant he was all good. (I understand - the booster is hard plastic compared to the upholstered cushion seat!)

The boys enjoyed the show - Brent and I kept our eye on their reactions and they were mesmerized with the performance - especially when Peter Pan came flying through the window with pixie dust!! (compliments of harnesses and a cable system)

Kade especially liked Princess Tiger Lily's braveness and the sword fight between Captain Hook and Peter Pan. Brock said he liked the flying the best and seeing the Crocodile at the end. Brent said he liked seeing me enjoy the show with my family the best.

Downtown Cary has a brand new park - right next to the library! So far, only Kade and I have explored it - and only at night on our way to/from the library!

The center of the playground sits two huge Cardinals - one of which houses the slide.

A cute video of Kade coming down the slide.

Lastly, the boys' elementary school hosted a Math & Science night at the school on Thursday evening. Both Brent and I picked them up from carpool for an early dinner at Burger Village. Everyone loved their meals - chicken (for the "I'm more of a chicken guy" = Kade), salmon burger (for me), beef burger for Brock and bison burger for Brent.

A great presentation by the NC State Rocketry club in Kade's old first grade classroom. Then the boys made their own paper rockets!

Kade and his best buddy showing off their paper rockets!

After exploring the Robotics & Lego room, we headed to the Cafeteria so they could fold and fly their own Paper Airplanes. Kade made the top ten board with a flight distance of 32 feet!

Brock showing off his chromatography butterfly!

Yay for fun things!
