| Brock (Red cap, Lane 2) |
This past weekend was Brock's debut at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. He completed seven individual races plus two relays over the two days.
First race was the 50 yard Free. He did really well and was ecstatic to finish in the 31's!
Second race, 200 yard Free - his very first time with such a distance. He crushed it!
Third race on Saturday was the 50 yard Fly - used to be HIS event. We notice he's gaining a bit of time on the shorter distance races and crushing the longer races. Coach David foreshadowed this to happen and it's happening!
Last race for the day was a 200 yard Free Relay - he definitely held his own with his under 10 group!
Back to Greensboro on Sunday and it was a torrential downpour of rain the entire way there (and back)! Nevertheless, the race must go on! First up, 50 yard Back. Brock really does not enjoy Back... but he's sooo good at it!
He really makes it look effortless!
The next race was the 100 yard Butterly - he truly amazes us. He really does know how to reserve just enough energy for the end to really push it! Watch this comeback - one of the best races we've seen from him!
Super impressive - Entry time of 1:27.07 and finished with 1:24.83!!! Too bad someone from one of the earlier heats beat him out.
He swam in the 50 yard Breast and 100 yard Free, adding time to both of those, before finishing the day with another 200 yard Medley Relay - performing well. You could tell Brock put so much in to doing well in that 100 yard Fly race, he was a bit exhausted in the later races.

One of the best things we see, besides his excellent swimming, are his friendships he's made with his teammates. He knew some of the boys from school and baseball, but he's also made some new swim friends.
It's a great thing he's found his groove here at RSA. Brock was just promoted from the Wahoo group to the Barracudas - the elite 11-13 age group within RSA - all before he turns 11!!
