Maddox's 2nd Birthday: Weekend Edition

Brock and I headed to Huntersville Friday afternoon to celebrate with the birthday boy! Maddox was turning TWO!!! Maddox was hanging out at Suzanne's (aka Sassy) house, so that's where we headed first. Kade stayed back in Apex with Brent this trip.

Brock was wired up - probably from having a full week "off" from summer camp mixed with the excitement of the first day of school looming around the corner - but he played really nicely with Maddox.
Super hard to take a good photo of a MOVING Two-year old!!
Look at all the FUN toys this birthday boy received!!

Super cute confetti card from Sassy & Pop (Mike)

Big cousin helping open the gift. I love how patient Maddox is here - waiting for his turn.

Wow!! A ride-on John Deere tractor!! A little hesitant at first, but he'll be on it very soon!!
Right now, it's all about the pushing!

The next day the house was abuzz with activity as we were all getting ready for the big party! Brock was doing his due diligence of keeping Maddox company.

The cake arrived - party officially started!! What a good looking cake Nancy - I love how Publix created the idea you (with the help of pinterest) had. How awesome to find chocolate that looked like gravel and pebbles!

Pretty Nancy next to all her hard work!!
I love how Maddox went right for the construction vehicle while his Momma blew out the candle! :)

Brock was in heaven with the bounce house - and he made some friends closer in age to bounce with!

Nancy's sister, Kelly, got Maddox a tee-ball set!

Is that face not pure excitement!??

And the birthday celebration continued the following day too!! Due to a snafu at the inflatable rental company, Brian & Nancy got to keep their humongous bounce-house for another two days! With all the people gone, Maddox finally felt a little more comfortable going in to the bounce house too!

Super cute moment.

Right before it was time for us to head back to Raleigh, Uncle Brian had to show us his new virtual reality game. Pretty impressive - I had to show Brock. He was IN LOVE!

After some late nights at Uncle Brian and Aunt Nancy's and LOTS of jumping in the bounce house, my big guy slept for 85% of the ride home. Get that energy before school starts the next day!!
Happy Birthday Maddox!! You are such a sweet boy. You definitely know what you like and what you don't like! The whole weekend he had a smile on his face everywhere he went. I hope that never changes! Looking forward to more little words out of your mouth - like Aunt Vanessa! (But I'll take Brock or Kade too) ;) Enjoy being TWO!!
