Nags Head 2020 Beach Trip - Part III

What a birthday treat to be at the beach!! I'm so glad he was able to have something special in this Covid era.

My little lion turned 5!! We asked him what he wanted to do on his birthday - he said play at the beach, so that is just what we did!

Only slightly hard to get a good picture of such a moving object!

The boys had a lot of fun down in the water jumping the waves.... until we saw a jellyfish! THE jellyfish everyone was talking about - Portuguese man o' war jellyfish! We moved them to safer ground - up to the tide pool to finish out their beach day.

My two little fish!

I even convinced Brent to join us on birthday beach day!

After a little quiet time (hard to do with no black-out curtains), it was gift time! A month or so ago I asked Kade what he wanted for his birthday. He replied he didn't know... so I offered up a few suggestions for things I knew he liked playing of Brock's.... Legos, Beyblades, Maze books, Race cars, etc. After naming a few things, I asked what he thought. His response: "Yes." Me with a puzzled face.... "Which do you want to ask for?" Kade: "Yes to all of them, I want all those presents Mommy."

Hmm... not the way it works!

Look at that concentration!

Thrilled for another remote controlled race car!

SO so happy.... his very own Beyblade battle arena!

Some poses with Grandpa! Almost every morning while watching the SUN RISE, Grandpa had company with a certain little person! Yup, he's an early riser!

He's a character!

Happy Birthday Kade, you are now 5! Nope, again he informed us he does not turn 5 until he eats cake on his birthday!

Can you feel his excitement??!?

Lastly, a few from his school celebration the Friday before. I treated his entire class to a Chick-Fil-A luncheon - complete with chicken nuggets, Mac & cheese, and fruit! The birthday boy requested, and received, French fries too (they aren't a typical catering menu item)!

Here is the birthday boy with his fabulous preschool teachers!
