Boat Day with Moose 2021

Finally a nice summer day on the cooler side - perfect for taking a mastiff out on the lake!

He loves being with his humans....

But not a huge fan of the wind in his ears.

We did anchor up to a shore and had Moose swim to the beach - it was eventful - coaxing him into the water and swimming to shore, but alas, no pictures. He had a great time exploring the sand and the shallow rocky ledges - probably trying to figure a way back to the boat without getting all wet again! Brent decided the best way to get Moose back into the boat was to drive the boat to the very shallow water - like 3 feet (which he never does) to be able to lift Moose up and in!

Time for the jumps!

Moose was figuring this part out - why did these tiny humans keep jumping in!??!

Later that week on a rainy day, we spotted a visitor working quite diligently right by our garage. This momma turtle laid 4 eggs in the dirt/mulch - even hissed at Moose who got a bit too close to her!

Per wikipedia, the eastern box turtle's incubation time is 50-80 days. Eggs dropped on June 10th, so we've been watching ever since!
