Family Beach Vacation to Nags Head - Part II

Replica of the hangar the brothers used to store their airplanes
Thursday the seas calmed down enough for Brent and his crew to try to catch a fish - Blaine and Reagan decided to wake up early to go too!! (Spoiler: no fish that day)

I needed something that would tire out my children and didn't cost too much - decided on the Wright Brothers National Memorial just up a bit in Kill Devil Hills. I don't remember coming here when I was younger - sure there's not TOO much to see, but it was still pretty interesting! Lots of grass for the boys to run around! ;)

The stones mark each of the four landing places the Wright Brothers made that day December 17, 1903! (The fourth one is ALL the way down!) The stone below where Kade and I are standing marks the takeoff!

It was HOT that day, so walking from the field up to the very large monument on the top of the sand dune was no small feat! I tried telling the boys to conserve their energy, but we are ALWAYS IN A COMPETITION!! "Who would get there first????" I don't see this ending, ever.

We made it! And there was shade!!

And a view! The Atlantic Ocean on the one side and Albemarle Sound on the other.

Upon our return to the base, the park rangers were handing out kites to all the kids to fly. It was the perfect day to fly a kite! Nice and windy!

We loved having Grammy and Grandpa right there with us every day! Great opportunity for random big hugs!

That night I took the big kids and Brock Putt-Putting - it's the thing to do while at the beach!

It was a busy night at the Putt-Putt course - we had to wait our turn to play!

Brock needed a little practice on his swing.

 Diamond course!

And then there was that time that two balls went in the water! (Caught on video.... well, the beginning of it at least!)

Friday was GORGEOUS - the kids and I went to the new water park - H2OBX and it was awesome! So clean, so much fun, (so expensive)! ;) Obviously didn't take too many pictures since my phone was locked away from the water, but so much enjoyment was had by all!

I did get a fun video of Blaine and Reagan going down a water slide!

Sleepy boys after a long day in the sun!

Meanwhile, Brent and Grandpa were having an AWESOME day on the boat! They caught two big ones - a beautiful Mahi and an enormous Yellowfin Tuna!

Diesel was super excited to see their bounty!

By the end of the filleting session, Diesel was covered in fish blood. He's such a fish hunter!

The proud fisherman!

On our last night there, we attempted a family picture before dinner. I think Reagan's face explains how well that went. ;)

Everyone was much happier with full bellies!

And another Eason Family Beach trip in the books. :)
