Grandpa Eason Visits!

Brent's father came to visit us this past week and it was wonderful to have him here visiting in our new home! This was a big trip for him - this was his first time to the Pacific Northwest! The day after his flight here, we took him in to the big city! What's a trip to Seattle without stopping at the Space Needle?

Waiting for the elevator to take them up the Space Needle
Too bad it was a little cloudy that day, the crew said they had a better view of the water from Pike Place Market than the Space Needle!
We stopped at the Market to pick up some fresh fish for dinner - Sockeye Salmon was delicious! (Sidenote, since Brent was having steak, the A1 was on the table. Brock wouldn't eat the salmon until he had a dollop of A1 to dip it in - funny guy)
I think Tom was impressed by the selection of fish, fruits and vegetables available at the market.... and how big it was! You really can spend so much time perusing all the vendors in the market and across the street!
I didn't get too many other pictures of Tom's long weekend here, but Brent, Brock and Tom did a few other things as a nice trio. They all drove down to Cabela's to visit the "animals" and go shopping for Brent's upcoming hunting trip. They also made a stop at the local Fry's to check out the computer equipment. We are especially happy that Tom was here when Brent decided to use the brand new (6 month old) power washer and it wouldn't start - it was fixed in 20 minutes. Of course the best part of Tom's visit was watching Brock and Grandpa interact - "Grandpa" sounds a lot like "Poopa," but I'm sure he thought it was the best thing he heard.

Final note on the trip, the reason Brent wanted his Dad to come out this week was because he had a little time between jobs. Yes, Brent has accepted a new position at Starbucks as Mobile Product Manager and could not be more excited! This is Brent's passion and is super excited to be working with apps again. We had to get one of the newest CORPORATE Starbucks employee to pose in front of the original Starbucks shop. ;)
